Apollo who?!

June 11, 2010

Apollo’s chariot is a faint glimmer
For me there was never a sun, only you
My breast bone pulls toward your warmth, I sit up straight
So I may keen in your gaze of stone, sand, time.
All a woman’s life, all this body

The one glory of morning, in your thick arms
I am only soul and soil, wood and bones
And a tongue that is burned. Let us pray
